I have some catching up to do on blog posts so you might see a few new sessions posted over the next couple of days! I think the cold and impending snow today made me want to post this session! I took these back in the fall but the flowers and warm hues just make me smile and warm my heart! Plus you can’t help but smile at a sweet couple expecting their first baby! Enjoy!4 Comments »
Who knew I would ever get so excited about business cards??! I just got these in the mail this week and I’m so thrilled! They are gorgeous and I can’t wait to hand them out to everyone I know! Just wanted to share their lovely-ness since they make me so happy I thought they might brighten someone else’s day as well!2 Comments »
Christina and Hans were total troopers! It’s often hard to get excited about taking engagement pictures when it is cold and dreary outside but these two showed up with their game faces on and made the most of the not so fabulous weather. Because we didn’t have any green grass or pretty flowers to add that pop of color, we decided to use the colorful backdrop of downtown Roswell to add some pizazz to their engagement pictures. Kristina…you did a wonderful job picking out clothing for you and Hans to wear! The blues/teals totally complimented with the many red doors and brick walls we found on our adventure wandering around downtown Roswell for the perfect locations! You can tell from the smiles and sweet looks in these portraits that you just love each other to pieces! I had a blast getting to know you two and can’t wait for the wedding! Enjoy your sneak peak!2 Comments »
Ok ok…so I know the title to this post is a bit quirky and weird…but…I promise…what it says is true – Dr. Seuss is smart!
Why? Because of this quote:
“I’m glad we had the times together just to laugh and sing a song, seems like we just got started
and then before you know it, the times we had together were gone.”
You know who else is smart? Yep, my friend Amber – whose gorgeous family is pictured below. (www.amberandersonphotography.com) Why is she smart? Well…she’d probably argue that she’s smart for a lot of reasons (because she is definitely a smart aleck like that!) but…one of the main reasons that she’s smart is because she GETS this quote – wholeheartedly – and embraced it for this session! Amber understands, that the moments we have with our kids are fleeting…they are only going to be this little for a while…and when you blink your eyes, they are magically going to be all grown up! So…she asked me to fly out to visit her in Washington (yep…the state!) and capture some images of her family being just that…a family. A family that loves, and cherishes, and adores one another. We got a second to set aside all of the craziness of life and schedules for a few minutes and just capture the simpleness of pure love. Amber said it best on her own blog…so I’ll leave you with a quote from her – see…told you she is smart!
“I realized that I take photos for other families, but have neglected to have photos of my own family done.
Take those photos. Take as many snapshots of your kids and family as you can. Snapshots might not be prize
winning portraits, but those will be the moments you cherish for life. I will also be making time for sessions
with my own kids. I am hiring a photographer to take new family photos of us ASAP since this isn’t
something I can do myself. I don’t care if I’m not at the weight I want to be at. I don’t care ifI haven’t
had time to update my hairstyle. I want those memories in print. Stop putting it off and capture your family as they are!”
I recently got the pleasure of flying out to Washington (state) to visit a photographer friend of mine and take some pictures of her beautiful family! (Don’t worry…those images will be coming soon!) While I was there, we set up a stylized wedding shoot with two gorgeous models (Kim is also a photographer friend of ours!) We had so much fun with this shoot…from getting all of the props, to handpicking flowers from a local grower’s garden and making a bouquet, to picking the perfect location and seeing our vision come to life! I have more to go through…but for now…I just had to share these few! That NW sky was just amazing! So glad I was able to capture it in all of it’s glory!1 Comment »
Magdalina & Mikhail : Married at the Old Decatur Courthouse : BerryTree Photography, Atlanta, GA wedding photographerNovember 11, 2010
First of all…let me just say what a gorgeous venue this was! Totally different and unique and the all the white marble inside made for the perfect backdrop of simple elegance! Magdalina was a beautiful bride and the gorgeous surroundings only complimented her loveliness! I was invited by Nadia D Photography to help shoot this wedding it was a blast! Not only was it my first Jewish ceremony – it was my first Russian wedding as well! Well…let me tell you…Jewish Russian weddings are a blast! I was totally in love with all of the traditions they had from the dancing to the vodka and shot glasses on each table! I just had to get a shot of that – totally Russian – I was loving it! Enjoy the images – there are a lot but all of the details were too fun not to share!View / Edit Comments
Kimmone & Patrick : Married at Chateau Elan! BerryTree Photography: Atlanta, GA Wedding PhotographerOctober 19, 2010
This was one of those days that you only dream of getting married on. After weeks and weeks of summer temperatures in the high 90s – this was one of the first days that said “fall is coming!” There was a lovely chill to the breeze of an otherwise hot day – a perfect outdoor wedding day! This gorgeous couple had two of the best smiles that I’ve ever seen! I just know that they will have many many years of smiles ahead of them! Congrats Kimmone and Patrick I’m so glad I was able to be there to help capture your special day!
And a special thanks to Lori of www.lorisuzannephotography.com for inviting me along to help her with this wedding – it was truly an honor to get to shoot with you and I had a blast!

What can I say? Fall is inspiring me! Fall weddings…ahh… I think if I could pick any time of the year to get married, it would be in the fall. It’s just so romantic with the leaves falling and the gorgeous, rich fall sunsets. LOVE. So…I created three fall inspired wedding storyboards. All three storyboards use the same bride and groom wardrobes as inspiration – but they each have totally unique looks. I love the fact that you don’t have to use pumpkins and leaves in your decor to have a fall themed wedding – here I used the color orange as my inspiration in all three storyboards – yet one is more rustic and casual, one is more classic and elegant, and one is a good mixture – sweet yet sophisticated. Which would you pick? Would love to hear your thoughts on these wedding inspirations! **Note: none of the images used in these storyboards are mine – they are clips gathered from online to demonstrate how I would stylize a fall wedding.1 Comment »
Well it’s that time of year again! Time for pumpkins, and hot chocolate, and leather boots, and warm fuzzy hats! There is a chill in the air! And what does fall bring?….family portrait time!! If you are looking for portraits for Christmas cards, now is the perfect time! The leaves are starting to turn and it is just gorgeous outside! Of course there are many traditional “Christmas” outfits you could wear, but I suggest embracing this fall’s jewel tone fashion and going to town! These colors are just gorgeous together! I created these outfit suggestions for an upcoming client, but thought I would share them here since I love them so much! Enjoy! (and call me soon if you want to book a session in time for sending out Christmas cards or giving portraits as gifts – really…not trying to pressure you…but time is running out!)
